International Drug Smuggling Ring Busted: Hong Kong-Malaysia Operation Seizes $8.3M in Concealed Drugs

Hong Kong and Malaysian police collaborated to apprehend five individuals involved in a sophisticated drug smuggling operation. Authorities seized HK$8.3 million worth of drugs, ingeniously concealed within plaster sculptures. Two individuals were arrested in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, and later charged with drug trafficking after the confiscation of suspected heroin and crack cocaine. Simultaneously, in Kuala Lumpur, the police uncovered additional narcotics and intercepted three individuals, including one Hongkonger. In a subsequent raid on the suspect’s residence, law enforcement seized 10 slabs of suspected heroin weighing a total of 3.5kg. A 25-year-old woman was also apprehended in the operation.
